Nioh 1 has Spirit mode, and charms to both give you sprit on damage + regenerating spirit.
You're also fully immune to damage and super armor everything while under such. Once you unlock Hi-Nezumi, just set that and start abusing how quickly it recovers. Also the charms that lets you attack with them goes pretty far as well. Otherwise abuse Tonfa's ability to just destroy guard as a post-release addition.
