We're pretty much in a postmodern PMD comic era where any Riolu has a 50-50 chance to be a completely earnest self-insert or a self-aware joke about how many Riolus there are in the PMD fandom, so I wouldn't judge a comic based on just that.

I think that's fair, I might be giving this one too much of a pass because I feel like it's setting up ground for future character growth. Like the random eevee family flashback, umbreon's evolution, and I think the mudkips are also pretty interesting. But it's true that it's not really felt in the comic as it currently exists.

Man, people really do not like Terminus. I wasn't taking it seriously, it doesn't take itself seriously, I thought it was funny, and that was my main reason for liking it. I saw the fat stuff and didn't think it was worth mentioning, so maybe my filter was off on this one.
