Really want to visit and hike parts of Hadrian's Wall as well, trying to see parts of the Lake District and Scotland. I'm planning on going for a couple of weeks in January or February. I'm looking to go when there would be minimal tourism. I'm a midwesterner, so I'm familiar with cold winds and snow, but I'm interested in how comparable the winter weather in the northern UK is to Midwestern Winters. Any and all advice about traveling here is welcome.
