considering the many many misogynistic vitriol-filled comment sections i've read over many years on threads here, youtube videos, twitter posts, the occasional steam post, etc. i think it's this one. devs of games like fgo make the conscious choice to not allow stuff like male summer units despite their understanding of how certain characters (eg. Oberon) are massively popular and would outsell multiple female characters combined. they'd be drowning in money if they'd made summer oberon or gilgamesh, but they willingly don't for years on end because they're against male fanservice that much. douman's artist outright made all the art assets for a full unit with 3 separate outfits and not just one lame costume, but they still wouldn't do it.
even outside of that, you can't underestimate just how many men genuinely hate women for reasons fed to them through internet culture war shit, and that's on top of the historical views on women ingrained in cultures all over. if you were here last thread, one anon was sharing the hell that chinese women have to go through on a regular basis since so many men are just that awful. shit is so fucking bleak.
