The easiest way to spot an idiot is the confidence with which they speak about things they have little or no understanding of (jumping to conclusions, projecting their own experience/situation onto others without qualifying it, thinking they know you better than you know yourself but get basic details wrong, etc. etc.) All classic idiot behavior.
