I guess I get some kind of small perverse comfort in the routine of lifting.
Routine that distracts from the flitting, inconsequential thoughts we all have. Perhaps peace can be found in embodying ceaseless mechanism rather than despairing on the whims of the heart, and dreams of the spirit. A rock falls when it's shunted off a cliff; how would it do otherwise, and why should it. My unhappiness comes from thinking I am beyond the falling rock. Peace cannot be found in the wailing of a ghost, or the opposing rabid desires of a beast.
Ignore your flowing tears and embrace the stillness of the lake below. We will be here for a long time.

what the hell do our fathers have to teach about the modern world? We got dashed at the rocks, and most people made it out fine, but the mainstream has no solutions for those of us left on the sidelines by the new world we live in. They offer old world salves to new world problems, with a side of mockery and disdain.
