Jaethal and Valerie are the best companions in Kingmaker, but the sex twins are uninteresting coomerbait with a funny little gimmick to them and were only added to the game because gooners weren't happy with the existing romance options. Nyrissa isn't a good romance, but she's at least an interesting character, and you have to puzzle out her spite and empathise with her without being a total simplord if you want to squirt mayonnaise in her lettuce (this is a metaphor for sexual intercourse btw).
