Because that would destroy the narrative. It would show that CO2 changes lag temperature changes, they’re not a driver. It would show that current temperatures aren’t anything out of the ordinary. It would show that even higher temps/CO2 don’t involve any goddamned tipping point.
It would remind people that we’re living in the middle of a fucking ICE AGE and for the vast majority of the Earth’s history the planet was warmer, wetter, greener, and far more biodiverse.
And then the death cultists that infest the “green” nonprofits and academia who want to end technological society and kill off billions of people would no longer have an argument.
