Spindly spiders twitching in frantic anguish as they skitter across the field at lightning speeds amid the boom of artillery flashing through the gloom and smoke. Invisible winds of absolute silence falling upon a troop, cutting off even telepathic communication as the rest of the world fades beyond a black horizon which approaches until only the victim remains, drowning in helplessness ... alone forever. A sound which drives men to murderous terror in their panicked flight to escape it, but which no others hear as their phalanges are scraped free of flesh by the scrabbling attempt to claw their way through a solid metal door.
