Will I be shamed here but I currently like fighting games now. (tbf my favorite fighting game was P4AU and DBFZ)
>easier execution but still there if you want to hit a higher skill ceiling
>actually force people to play aggressively instead of poking and pussying out
>character balance for most games are actually pretty solid. most tier lists just feel like content creators following the trends and retardposting instead of actual deep analysis.
My biggest problem with the genre right now is the community. Everyone even in game is kinda a douchebag and nobody wants to have good sets. It's just everyone screeching about game balance and direction and constantly DOOMposting over and over and over again. I think it's just boomers/gen x are burnt out of the genre and zoomies are the most obnoxious cunt generation less that fighting games are getting "worse". That being said I think we need one more popular "anime-styled" fighter that replicates the late 2010 era. Feels like every fighting game did get street fighterfied and it's more about short combos and neutral which makes a lot of games insanely poke heavy which can get annoying.
