GQsomething isn't that different from what's come before. We'll see where it goes, but so far the scenario is leaning heavily on the (main) Zeon Gihren's Greed route, right down to the Titans returning. I wouldn't be surprised to see elements from Tomino's 0079 novel specifically Char toppling the Zabis by using Kycilia against Gihren creep in too, especially if it gets a more traditional second season. The Origin was already a soft AU, so I'm not surprised they went with Zeon wins lol. It's better than yet another UC spinoff that boils down to

There's a lot of ground for actual spinoffs from the new show if it does well, since you don't have the corrupt yet surviving Federation monolith still standing to arrest progress in the setting.
