Orthodox Christianity is being presented to Westerners on the internet by Russian Glowniggers as an "alternative" to mainstream Protestant Christianity. Uninformed reactionaries will get the idea to convert because it seems better at face value than "weak" mainstream churches, but the truth is Orthodoxy got raised from the dead by the KGB with some strings attached that are still there to this day. And when reactionaries join a church they think is so "based", they're bound by the same strings the KGB bound to Orthodoxy and now reactionaries are Russian puppets like Evangelicals are Israeli puppets.

So an uncle of mine once married a straight up she-devil from the Appalachians who was a bad influence on my cousins and one of them turned out as bad a sociopath as her mother. Now I live in the Midwest and the culture is generally laid back such that you're very unlikely to run into this level of crazy. The woman herself passed away before I could ever get to know her, but I have to wonder if the level of crazy I've heard about her from others in my family is closer to the exception or the norm than the culture of the Appalachians, the culture she herself came from. Is it pretty mellow for the most part or are folks from that region usually up to some Shadow Over Innsmouth level fuckery?
