Sadly we're in a bit of a dark age when it comes to games. While games like Red Dead Redemption are very technically impressive they use this tech to make horrible creatures.
The sort of budget needed to make a visually stunning game carries with it the chains of the machine that renders the work smut, slop, or both. Cuphead, though a very specific style was quite good. Inside had some very good visual design, if simplistic. Outer Wilds. My personal favorite game is Hotline Miami, though it's not exactly beautiful visually the music is great.
