My theory is that they didn’t originally want to make The Witcher 4, but after the dev hell of CP 2077, they’re trying to play it safe. In CP 2077, they got a lot of criticism for offering a more limited range of choices. But with a set character they can get away with that so they’re playing it safe
Also like the anon, I don’t care about the woke stuff or female protag. The issue is that Ciri is just boring. She’s the nice and kind chosen girl, but there’s nothing interesting about her.
