Off the top of my head I know Lithuanian and Japanese both use MM/DD in discussions.
>Mes (We're) isvaziuojam (leaving/driving away) Rugpjucio (August) astunta diena (8th [day]).
>俺は (I am/will) 運転を東京 ([be] driving to/in Tokyo) が八月十八日 (on August 8th).

>If someone refers to a date "the 20th" referring to a point in the future when conversing with you, and you don't immediately connect that to "20/7" (or ask for clarification on the assumption that is what is referred to), you are brain damaged.
The point is that MM/DD specifies the month immediately without need for clarification whereas DD/MM has to directly clarify every single time unless the discussion itself has context that it will be in the near future, and even then that doesn't mean it's going to be the "near future" as in "the current month" but could be the next month coming up as well. Without clearing this up after the fact you are just making a discussion require more steps.
