Yeah, that's what I mean - people call Toby a hack and shit but he's able to write multifaceted characters that are able to feel conflicting feelings, like a part of Kris that enjoys the Weird Route (for currently unclarified reasons, given we still have 3 chapters left of context not currently available to us) but also goes out of his way to haul Berdly's retarded ass to the hospital despite the fact that nobody really likes him that much; Deltarune written by the fanbase would either have Kris be generic pacifist Frisk 2.0, or generic genocide Chara 2.0, but either one would probably be slurped up by the guy who keeps whining about "chungus Kris"
