The thing is Universal doesn't own the Frankenstein novel. That shit is public domain. Anyone can adapt that. Universal only owns the green skin, neckbolt Boris Karloff design of Frankenstein. So long as Frankenstein doesn't have a flat skull and neckbolts, Universal can't sue. Isn't copyright law wonderful?
