You're not wrong, I'm not fond of how they're mostly using sub races these days and they feel really shitty.
TBC forrest trolls got unique model (except the women lmao), I feel like if they didn't swap to blood elves they could have done a lot to make them more visually distinct like how blood elves look distinct from night elves.
but ultimately I'm asking for not one but two subraces on each faction becasue it's better for the lore so I can see why you'd not be a fan.
if epoch plan to add their own races that's cool if they literally plan to do nothing then they should just do draenei and BE I guess.
