Barrel gets a little kiss of carbon right under the vent but otherwise its very minimal
Ive never owned a 416 that had a >10" barrel with a >9" handguard allowing me to get my hand infront of the gas block but I do be having a SCAR that performs similarly. On the scar it takes like a couple mags of dangling a finger in there before it starts to stain you.
