So about 5 years ago some people said maybe the police should try to do a better job. And in response they had a tantrum and stopped doing their job at all, because apparently they all signed up for the sole purpose of being able to beat the shit out of and kill people with total impunity and if they can't do that what's the point of even being a cop?

And so here we are today and there are people who unironically think "the libs defunded the police" when at most a couple of cities changed the description of a couple of budget items to call it "public safety" instead of "police" even though it was the exact same thing.
