You know, tequila feels like an "upbeat" sort of alcohol. Like absinthe, cider, or gin. One drinks it when one is happy, or when one wants to be happy.
On the other hand, whisky and rum --- and vodka too, to a lesser extent --- tends to feel more morose. One drinks it when one is unhappy.
Beer is a nice middle-ground.
