Mauls trade -1i for +2S, so if you can survive the swords, you'll hit the other guy harder, and can also hurt non-Marine stuff, niche as that may be. I suppose it also hits 3+ save axe-wielders harder than they hit you.
I would have liked power weapons to be (breaching 6+ on all of them)
>Sword: +1A
>Maul: -1i +2S (as is)
>Axe: -1i +1S AP2
>Spear: +1i. No Precision 6
I just think, once again, swords have nothing to go for them when spears are basically the same thing but faster.
Also, swords are the only melee weapon that is balanced and can parry, so that's why I'd give them +1A.
