Stole a car out from under another group a few doors down - they were fending off a horde when Jean and I crept up and grabbed their car. Poor bastards were still getting torn up as we left. Towed it home in time to hear heavy gunfire to the West, close by.

Drove the new car out around the lake to scout the gunfire, fearing military, and instead found a derelict water treatment plant. It was infested so we pulled up outside and slowly began clearing them. It worked for a few minutes, but too many sprinters came peeling out of the building. They overwhelmed us in seconds, tearing up my armor and biting Jean on the arm. Big mistake going there. Never found the source of the gunfire.

He turned overnight so now it's just Cali and I. Held a brief funeral and poured out some of the good liquor for him. He was actually good at combat and useful for taking on larger groups, it's just that I have to be sharp and pull back or intervene when runners appear... and failed this time. Here's to you, Jean.
