I'll be honest, kinda underwhelming. I cant' believe they brought out China's VA to do one song. I don't understand where the idea that this is "the true Wonder Scale" came from when originally recorded by the Tokyo Philharmonic anyways. Like, what's the point? You can't even say it's even top 3 WonSuka performances because she's not waving around a steel baton that's as heavy as a steel pipe with her non-dominant hand. No flourishes or accents too, just a super straightforward rendition that you can hear by watching the MV that no one has watched due to the shitty thumbnail. THose small personal touches where she doesn't just sing is like 70% of the appeal of her performance.
The summer medley is nice but that' feels more like a second course and not the main one. I know they did "iconic" songs the first time round but it's not like the franchise was standing still since.
Finally, the Chii Yabou was mid. It wasn't kino. I mean, everything was impressive, technically, but there was no soul on having two people I don't know sing it compared to Sena's VA actually doing the marathon solo while swinging around a sword. Honestly, they really should've introduced the imas choir first because I only found it endearing because of them. I'd care more if I knew a group of Ps were brought on by BamCo and then had their dreams come true by accompanying Go Shiina. I can be happy for them and gain something from that.
In comparison, I don't give a fuck about SideM but I can 100% appreciate the actual lyricist singing the songs she wrote with the one she wrote it for. The fact that said person shouldn't exist in our world was just the icing on top and sorta showed what Vision 3.0 can be. That I just read Hiro Step 3 also helped.
Everything else was either okay or just fine but it doesn't feel like the finale before the 20th anniv it should have been. I guess that's why it technictynpjally was part of the "Road to 20 years" instead of the actual 20th celebration.
