They're an acquired taste, and usually require a ton of trial-n-error, RNG, grinding, and sometimes drawing your own maps. on top of a lot of micromanagement since they usually have more than the standard 4-niggas in a row.
Theres games like class of heroes, which goes out of its way to mess with the player, and you can't even heal your allies without a chance of them dying, and cant even disarm a trap without a chance of it failing. The kind of game where your first 2 playthroughs are just a tutorial essentially
Then theres dungeon crawlers that easy to get into like artificial dream of arcadia and other SMT clones.
For me, it really depends. I don't mind dungeon crawlers, but i also prefer them to be a more comfy experience
