There's something weird about the new animation. Yes it kinda looks like the 1990s but why are the outlines squiggly and wobbly? I guess "sketchy" is the right term?

Yes animators in the 90s couldn't always draw perfectly straight lines. That adds to the charm of the animation....but that doesn't mean EVERY outline they drew was slightly bent or dirty or sketchy looking. They drew some nice artwork back then too. See Pic related
