So the first anon might have been wrong about how old the review was, but the figure was still likely less than a year old when that review was made, and Subby has no idea how prolific the deteriorating rubber on the Cave Troll was.
It makes sense that it was the red box release in that review. The majority of the initial Fellowship release ended up with the fully torn mouth seen in >>11484245 because of the open box design and dumb kids fucking them up in stores.
But the rubber still began to disintegrate pretty quick even in a sealed box, as can be seen in pic related. And Toy Biz didn't try to find a more durable rubber for any of the reissues. It was so bad that when they reissued it in the blue box for ROTK, cracking and disintegrating Cave Trolls were warming shelves everywhere, so no retailer wanted to take it, and the blue box release ended up only getting released in Spain. Not even all of Europe. Just Spain.
I've got 90s Street Sharks thatngot actually played with that are in better condition than most MIB Cave Trolls.
