>Superman is too good and pure to be a compelling hero but oh my look another Sonic
I mentioned this in one of the Sonic x Justice League threads on /co/, but those comics really showed just how little the writers understood the characters they were working with by pairing Shadow with Batman. The character Shadow SHOULD'VE been paired with was Superman, because both are the most virtuous members of their respective character sets even though Shadow looks like he'd be the furthest from Superman morally. A talented writer would've picked up on this, and used it as a way to showcase how similar they are in their selflessness, desire to make the world a better place, and how their resolve both comes from their hearts.
Sonic is a much different character from Superman, and in terms of what you're describing, much more "morally grey" than Superman. Not necessarily in that he has a villainous streak, but in a more thematic way in that Sonic represents the moral and philosophical path of the Buddha whereas Shadow represents the moral and philosophical path of Christ. Makes me sad to see such a surface level understanding of these characters being used to propagate your argument for a Superman game, which makes me think that your stance is disingenuous and you don't actually care for Superman either, and are using empty rhetoric to feign outrage and demand something you don't even want or would even understand if it existed.
