Ruby and Sapphire aren't dead even after the Deoxys jumpscare destroys the communication/teleport circle things on the suits, yet the suits themselves hold up, so I guess that's true.

In PokeSpe, the Red and Blue Orbs end up all over the fucking place, but by the ORAS arc they finally fuse with Groudon/Kyogre and disappear for now. The Orbs are just "manifestations of natural energy" though so they'll probably come back somehow. However Ruby and Sapphire have some magic destiny connection shit to the Orbs (like the Orbs having enough consciousness to "choose" them as their holders back in the RS arc, or how just touching the Orbs once has permanent side effects like constant nightmares and glowy eyes, and Ruby/Sapphire had completely absorbed the Orbs into their bodies at one point). So even if the Orbs themselves aren't present, it's safe to assume Ruby and Sapphire have some residual magic Orb plot armor from their time as the Orbs' holders, which would protect them in outer space if their space suits aren't able to.
