I personally don't think there's anything wrong with 401k's or Roth IRA's or even insurance companies. However, they're all forms of rehypothication in financial instruments where you could very easily end up SOL.
Many go along to get along, and there's nothing inherently corrupt in this lifestyle, content to believe that nothing ever happens, that there's nothing to worry about.
Most here disagree, not out of anxiety or fear, but because we know the wickedness of our own imaginations and hearts, so we take precautions.
There is very little that can convince one who is constitutionally honest with themselves to "trust me bro" because we can barely trust ourselves.
