Meanwhile in India, Char Aznable silently sips on a glass of whisky as he waits for news from the Kycilia Agency to arrange for the purchase of an indentured prostitute that was believed to be a genuine Newtype. As a call finally arrives on his communication device, Char steps over to a private section of the bar to be given further information...only for the famed Red Comet to enter into a panic as she rushes out from bar into the vile and infested streets outside. Less than a mile from the bar, Amuro Ray pants as he holds onto an Indian woman, his hand practically fused to the pistol in his other hand.

>Lalah: Amuro, you aren't a violent person by nature. I know you don't want to use that-
>Amuro: Of course I don't want to, but I am not letting those people take you...!
>Lalah:...Where will we go?
>Amuro: I-i'll figure it out, ok? Oh, Lalah...!

Having experienced a feeling of genuine Nirvana from his short, yet eternally gratifying union of the flesh with Lalah, Amuro abandons any other purpose or reason other than keeping her safe as he waits for an opening to escape from the city with her.

>Char: Lalah! Lalah Sune, I know you are here! Come to me!
>Lalah: Captain-
>Amuro: Char...!!
>Lalah: Amuro, don't! If you don't let me go, you will be-
>Kycilia Agent: Hold it right there! You little bastard-

Ramming the pistol against the aged soldier's throat, Amuro blasts a hole through his neck, firing additional shots into his skull from his stress and panic. Gasping in horror at the violence Amuro is willing to take for her sake, Lalah pulls the gun out of Amuro's hand.

>Lalah: Y-you...just murdered-
>Amuro: I would do it to anyone that would try to hurt you!

Rushing for his parked car while leading Lalah by her wrist, Amuro escapes from the blight infested hellscape in India, leaving Char to yell out in rage at Lalah being stolen from him.
