Of the numerous political families at Side 3 that had followed the teachings of Zeon Zum Deikun, the Ral family would stand the most loyally at Zeon's side as he had pushed for both the independence of the colonies, along with his widely followed and growing ideology of the "Newtypes", a new species of humanity developing from their experiences in space. Only separated by blood, the Ral family would swear themselves to defend the integrity and honor of Zeon Deikun, his mistress, and his two children...however, the tragic passing of Deikun Deikun and the ascension of another close ally of Zeon Deikun, Degwin Zabi, would mark the downfall of the Ral family as political strife would break out between the two political dynasties, with the Ral's being disgraced and branded as radicals. Jimba Ral would pass during this time, his name forever tainted by the Zabi's...and yet, his son, Ramba, would remain in the ranks of Zeon to not only secure the freedom of the Colonies, but to return his family name to prominence alongside his own lover, Crowley Hamon. After years of silently being forced to carry the shame of his family name, Ramba Ral would prove himself during the calamitous conflict that would come to be known as the "One Week War." In this time, Ramba Ral, alongside his loyal and steadfast comrades, would earn their reputation as an elite combat unit engaging the Federations defense forces at the colonies, with him earning the famed title "Blue Giant." Zeon's victories at Sides 1, 2 and 4 had bolstered the belief that they would secure a swift victory over the Federations Forces...and yet, the fighting would continue even after the failed Operation British. It would continue after the bloodshed at Side 5's "Loum" sector...and it would continue even past that as General Revil, Supreme Commander of the Earth Federations space forces, would proclaim Zeon to be far to weak to continue a prolonged war. Perhaps he had been correct. Perhaps Zeon was exhausted...but it was an insult that would be repaid in full as Zeon forces would shortly after launch an offensive onto the Earth.

Standing atop the burning wreckage of a Big Tray, Ramba Ral raises a Zeon flag atop the ruined land ship.

Ten months had passed from when the war had first begun, with Ramba Ral's greatest concern of the conflict reaching a perpetual stalemate coming to fruition despite Zeon's many victories on Earth and in space. Even with him earning the favor of Dozle Zabi for his actions fighting alongside his younger brother on Earth, Ramba had found himself, and his dear comrades trapped due to his family name. To truly free himself, Crowley, and his brothers in arms, he required an act that would elevate them all from their current status as a guerilla force to the true elites of Zeon's military...with that opportunity arriving with the news of Garma Zabi's death at the hands of a new Federation warship. Having been selected by Dozle Zabi to serve as his executor of retaliation, Ramba Ral was finally given the chance he needed to finally secure a true future for Crowley and his comrades...

Sparing no expense, Ramba Ral's unit is provided with one of Zeon's precious Zanzibar-class vessels, along with the first of Zeon's newest "MS-07-Gouf" Mobile Suits. Boasting more armor, mobility and combat abilities than Zeon's mainstay Zaku II's. Tracking the Federations "Trojan Horse" to the Alaskan territories, Ramba Ral's Zanzibar descends to the Earth to ambush the vessel as it prepares to escape into Asia.

Obviously we are calling for reinforcements now, we are literally fighting the OYW final boss here desu (AND they haven't handed over Amuro's combat data to Jaburo yet so it's a major strategic victory if we can avert that). Pride has to take a backseat.

From a non metagame perspective, if the Trojan horse was vulnerable to a lightning attack, Char would have dealt with it, and if they could be suppressed with numbers, Garma wouldn't have died. The Trojan horse clearly has something giving it an edge and going in half cocked would be foolish. We should gather as much intel on our enemy as we can so we know what we're truly up against before attack strategies or reinforcement requests are on the table.

Unconvinced the data that he had received from Dozle Zabi based on the engagements of Char Aznable and Garma Zabi's units to be fully substantiated, Ramba Ral chooses to have his forces remain aboard the Zanzibar, with the vessel dispersing Minovsky Particles to mask its pursuit of the vessel while collecting data on it. Also as a means to hedge his chances against this fearsome vessel, Ramba Ral has leaked his position, along with the Trojan Horse's, to California Base. Unwilling to allow such a glorious chance at increasing their prestige in avenging Garma to pass, two Gaw Attack Carrier's armed with Dopps and Magella tanks mobilize for the Alaskan territories.

Aware that it is being pursued, the Trojan Horse turns to begin launching a bombardment of beams and missiles for Ramba Ral's Zanzibar, with the Guncannon and Guntank also providing long range fire near the vessel.

The Gundam continues to fire wildly into the air, forcing the Guncannon and Guntank to begin advancing forward to begin providing additional cover away from the protection of the Trojan Horse.

While the Gundam maintains its assault on the Zanzibar, the Trojan Horse and its remaining Mobile Suits launch a barrage on the approaching Gaw's, with the combined attack annihilating one of the airships in the matter of seconds. Scattering into the frost littered clouds, multiple Dopps begin to launch missiles towards the Trojan Horse, though the majority of their attacks are intercepted and destroyed by the vessels immense anti-air capabilities.

The Zanzibar continues to avoid the Gundam's attacks, with it finally beginning to pull back as its attempt to fire any additional shots from its rifle produce nothing.

>Ramba: That rifle is carries has a finite amount of energy...and not much even at that. The ship and their Mobile Suit appear to be preparing to retreat.
>Clamp: They have sustained some damage from that air unit from California! If we attack now-
>Ramba: Its anti-air capabilities are concerning. We collected what we came for today and can act upon that data once we have formed a proper strategy.

Firing off multiple flares, the Zanzibar falls back for a nearby Zeon supply base as the Trojan Horse escapes towards the Pacific Ocean. Having gathered valuable combat data on the Trojan Horse and its Mobile Suits, Ramba begins to ready a proper attack plan to sink the vessel during their next encounter. The surviving Gaw, having only sustained minor damage, chooses to continue its pursuit of the Trojan Horse by trailing Ramba's forces, intent on avenging their fallen comrades slain by the infamous vessel.

The chant of his countrymen flood the Zanzibar's halls over the funeral of Garma Zabi. While this speech has riled troops across the Earth and space into fighting harder to deal a killing blow to the Federation, Ramba can't help but feel a twinge of disgust at Gihren Zabi using his own brother as a propaganda piece in death. Even so, the now fully repaired Zanzibar mobilizes for the Pacific Ocean, now trailing the Trojan Horses estimated movement path to China. As they travel across the vast ocean, Clamp and Ramba review what they had gathered from their engagement against the vessel.

>Ramba: I am certain the crew are now proper Officers. Even when they turned to engage that Gaw, I could see immense disorganization in their movements.
>Clamp: So you are confident we will be able to defeat them on our next engagement?
>Ramba: They vastly outgun us, but that just comes down to dividing and conquering them. Given how they have been operating within Zeon controlled territory until now, they must be surviving off supply runs rather than landing at any settled bases. If we were to sink the Trojan Horse, their Mobile Suits would eventually be deprived of any means to resupply.
>Clamp: You want to try and capture those Mobile Suits, do you?
>Ramba: I am not trying to be greedy, but acquiring that technology for Zeon would give us the means to finally break this stalemate. Having said that, I am not about to waste lives attempting that unless the Trojan Horse's crew continue to show themselves as being so disorganized.

These three Mobile Suits had quickly become an obsession of Zeon, with many individual Commanders across the Earth now yearning to be the unit responsible for their destruction to earn the favor of Vice Admiral Dozle. While traveling across the Pacific Ocean alongside the surviving Gaw from California Base, Ramba Ral is contacted by M'quves personal aide Uragang in regards to receiving a Gallop-Class land craft.

>Uragang: I understand our forces in China have been suffering increasing losses from a Federation Counter Offensive. Will this be an issue for the craft transfer?
>Uragang: Colonel M'quve is confident this attack will be repelled before your arrival.
>Ramba: Are there any plans to reinforce the region?
>Uragang: As I said, Colonel M'quve is confident this will be resolved shortly. We understand you have trailed the Trojan Horse to the Taklimakan desert?

Ending the communication, Ramba sips on a glass of whisky as Hamon steps out from her bath.

Determining the Trojan Horse to be on route to pass through the desolate Taklimakan, Ramba readies to make a transfer from his Zanzibar to a Gallop-Class suited for the harsh environment. While confident in his soldier's abilities, Ramba recognizes the immense danger of the Federations newest Mobile Suits, even if their pilots leave much to be desired. The concerns over China's stability as a territory of Zeon also weighs on Ramba, with his faith in M'quves judgement ever draining. While he knows contacting additional Zeon forces of the Trojan Horses position may weak other zones such as Odessa or even the African front, he considers sacrificing part of his own prestige to further bolster his chances of destroying the Trojan Horse...

Ramba Ral has finally decided on the primary attack plan against the Trojan Horse unit. The Federations new Mobile Suits will be lured away from the Trojan Horse by Ramba's main force, while the Gallop and the remaining Mobile Suits will launch a direct assault on the vessel to sink it. Without a mothership to return to, Ramba Ral is confident the new Mobile Suits can be overwhelmed and eventually captured. To further bolster this plan, an encoded signal has been sent to a Mobile Suit Platoon leader who had fought alongside Ramba earlier in the war.

Within Arth's Zaku II, the arrogant young man bobs his head to a heavy metal song while he scratches his crotch to a pornographic magazine smuggled to him during his arrival to Odessa.

Arth is shaken in his cockpit as Topp taps her Zaku I's hand against his machines frame.

Nearly a week would pass, with the Zanzibar finally arriving near the coast of the ravaged and war torn land of Korea where their new Gallop awaited. As they approach however, the realization of the Federations total occupation over the region becomes apparent as multiple aircraft and tanks begin to mobilize to intercept the approaching Ral unit.

>Ramba: M'quve, you damned fool...! Ready for combat! Federation aircraft are approaching!

While the Ral unit pushes forward toward the supply base, the Gaw that had traveled from North America to Asia deploys its battalion of tanks, using them to hold off the Federations brigade of tanks and bombers.

>Federation Captain: Zeeks must be getting desperate to retake this land. Get that prototype deployed, on the double! Can we get the Guncannon's launched?!

With the Gallop readied for its pursuit of the Trojan Horse, the Ral unit review their data and determine the vessel be precisely where they had estimated they would be traveling through China. With the Federation actively attacking them however, the Ral unit is forced to push past their attackers before being able to begin a proper pursuit of their target. Topp's unit arrives at the coordinates laid out by Ramba, with her catching sight of the infamous Trojan Horse from her Zaku's visor.

Pushing their way through the Federations blockade of troops in northern China, Ramba Ral's unit receive a notification of Topp's Mobile Suit unit launching a surprise attack on the Trojan Horse, with survivors of the fall of China also mobilizing to reinforce them in attacking the vessel. Unfortunately, this has left the Gallop and what remains of the Gaw unit from California Base to struggle against the Federations seemingly endless numbers that spew out from Beijing.

Kicking a Type-61 away, Ramba shoots down two Depp Rogg's commencing a brutal bombing on their location.

Leaping out from a Medea, an orange, thin framed Mobile Suit aims a beam pistol for Ramba's squadron.

Arth feels a pang of fear as the Trojan Horse's left hangar opens, revealing the Gundam as its eyes flash directly towards him.

Meanwhile, Ramba Ral's unit struggles as dozens of tanks fire on his position, all while his unit engages against the Federations newest Mobile Suit, the GM Light Armor. Even as this new machine is finally shot down, one of the Zaku's in Ramba unit suffers a fatal blow from behind.

>Ramba: Reinforcements?! What the hell...?

Stepping out from behind a cliff side, five GM Ground-types begin to rush at Ral's unit.

Landing near the Gallop, multiple land-assault GM's aim their bazooka's for the landcraft.

Surrounded from every side, Ramba Ral's unit fight desperately for their survival as are attacked by not only the Federations newest model GM's, but scores of tanks and heavy bombers. While they are able to force an opening out from the brutal Chinese battlefront, Ramba learns of the desperate situation Topp's unit are suffering through...

While the Gundam awkwardly fumbles through the desert, the Guncannon deftly avoids Arth's attacks as it rams his Zaku into wastes below. The Guncannon rips open Arth's cockpit, pulling him into open sight of the White Base as its pilot yells over open comms.

>Amuro: You going to question my ability to pilot now, Bright?!
>Arth: P-please...don't kill me...!
>Bright: Have you lost your mind?! Focus on getting Sayla back here!
>Amuro: If you let me launch earlier, none of this would have happened! I am the only one who can pilot the Gundam! Why can't you see that?!

Amuro, to enveloped in his rage over a personal matter with Bright, tosses Arth into the desert as the Guncannon moves to restrain the Gundam.

Rushing in from behind Topp's Zaku I, her machine is sliced in half by a Ground Gundam.

Grabbing hold of Topp, Dell also boosts towards Arth's last known location, grabbing his bruised body out from the sand as he tries to defend both while retreating.

Carnage. Pure carnage. For every Mobile Suit that is felled by Ral's forces, two more emerge from Beijing as their seemingly endless numbers continue to harass the escape of Ramba Ral's forces.

While Cozun moves Acous to safety from his doomed Zaku, Ramba Ral charges into a squadron of pursuing GM's, swatting two of them down with his Gouf's heat rod.

Two days would pass, with the Gouf being fully repaired and the Gallop being readied to continue its pursuit. As Tachi returns with a transport truck however, the Ral Unit's morale plummets into oblivion with the news delivered...

While their final bombardment leaves the Trojan Horse on the absolute verge of destruction, it still manages to survive as the Zanzibar erupts into flames. Slumping back into his seat, Bright releases a relieved sigh.

Multiple beams impact the Gouf Flight Type, sending the ravaged machine to the surface below as multiple Gundam Ground Types ready their sabers to begin stabbing.

Truly satisfied in his belief that Hamon and the other crew of the Ral Unit will find prosperity because of his sacrifice, Tachi gives one final content smile as he Mobile Suit is speared by multiple sabers. Detecting the White Base's signal being lost, Sayla loses her focus just as the Gundam is ensnared by the Gouf's Heat Rod.

I think the ideal here is backing Dozle and hoping for a three way civil war after the Federation's finished and when he's done slaughtering his siblings, we get him to step down and install Artesia. I just don't know the best way to get there, since I don't want to be shackled to Char if that's where the cards fall and I want a chance for spacenoids to move past the Zabis, so I choose Side 3, if only to keep our options open. Also it probably won't spook Artesia immediately by saying: "Hey, we need you to lead us!"

A week would pass from the fall of China, with the Federation mounting a naval campaign against Hawaii from Australia in an effort to protect itself from being struck at such a vital period in the war. While fighting rages across across the Pacific Ocean, Ramba's Zanzibar finally arrives on the continent, striking at Torrington in its weakened state.

Torrington is overwhelmed, leaving what remains of the Federations forces in the region to be hunted down by Ramba's forces. It is galling and extremely risky but we are basically one small military force fighting one superpower and plotting to overthrow another. We need to take a few risks.
Let's discuss Char first. If he were to betray us now and steal the Gundam, where would he flee to? He was using Kycilia and Dozle to find more Newtypes and establish his own force, on top of getting close to the Zabis, but now his cover is blown because he sided with us, even if only briefly. He can't just go back to how things were before with Kycilia and Dozle.
Just eloping with Lalah? Well, first of all, I seriously doubt he's going to deal with Amuro so easily. Secondly it defies his more overarching goal of revenge against the Zabis, which we will become the best chance for once the Federation falls.
I just realised we might end up with something super funky if Jaburo falls, where the Federation remnants prop up a puppet Gihren as the "legitimate" ruler of Zeon on Luna II to fuck with them.
Anyway, as for Dozle, he is a simple fellow and if he was truly furious with us, we would know about it. The fact he's coming to "discern our loyalty" already implies he doesn't believe we are traitors, as Kycilia will have told him. We got a LOT of social credit with Dozle for blowing up the White Base, remember. I am significantly more confident about this choice than the Char one, at least. Landing atop the commander center, Ramba aims his heat swords downward.

This is the most narratively appropriate option since Ral's arc has been about restoring the Deikun family to power and is probably the easiest way to reform Zeon into a functioning, non-genocidal state. My only concern is that with Char still being an unknown variable, he might interpret Sayla's ascension as Ral using her as a puppet and trapping her in a gilded cage.
>Option 2: Degwin lives. Sayla retires.
This is the canon outcome where Sayla fucks off and retires to a beach house on Earth. While there is a delicious dramatic irony to Sayla choosing to be cruel by being merciful and forcing Degwin to own up to his mistakes, Degwin is already a figurehead in all but name. Dozle has a firm grasp over Zeon's military but Kycilia will probably try to fill the political power vacuum left by Gihren, leaving us with a divided Zeon against the Titans/AEUG.
>Option 3: Degwin lives. Sayla searches for Char.
Same overall situation as before but Sayla going out of her way to find Char might help defuse whatever scheme he has, whether it's leading the AEUG or forming Axis Zeon on his own terms.

This vote is more or less who we want as faction leader Sayla or Dozle. Sayla has more potential as a leader since she has a more sensible personality than Dozle but she starts off in a worse position than Dozle due to starting with tensions with Dozle and Kycillia. Dozle is established as the new Supreme Commander but Kycillia will be running schemes around him due to his naivete.

Personally I'm voting to poison Degwin. Sayla is a better leader to work with than Dozle in the long run and I'm interested in seeing how she will run Zeon since we don't get that often in runs.

Ended up voting for 1 cause I don't want Sayla to go away and I am convinced that Sayla can't forgive Degwin

I have to go with poisoning even though I feel like this is a bait option and is too soon both politically and for a Artesia that doesn't want to lead, but it's the only way to guarantee she stays in the game and on our side. Thankfully I think Dozle will actually get over this since Degwin literally asked for this. It'll probably smooth over if we actually treat his own family well. I'm certain option 1 is gonna win this. Where the hell is Kycilia anyway? We have major operations on Luna II and Jaburo but she is involved in neither of them despite being the highest ranking commander not in enemy hands. Cat fight for Zeon incoming. Gihren's fleet getting merked is awesome for us since they would definitely side with the Zabis even if Gihren himself is dead.
We should be able to count on most of Earth Zeon siding with us for sure.
Dozle might try and make his own faction if this really upsets him. Hopefully not.
