I guess you and I just track things differently because for me flicking my eyes between my DoTs and my GL buff was how I tracked what I could do. I also remember times like in T1 where I'd delay my coeurl GCD so I could hit Arm of the Destroyer's silence on ADS since we didn't have a BRD for High Voltage, and I had to make sure I didn't delay it too long and fuck everything. Or in A12S making sure to maintain it going into the time warps.

Job gauges are just one of the things that need a total rework as part of the 8.0 job changes (if they even manifest). You have RDM making perfect use of the concept but then you look at WAR, DRK, SMN, or SCH and you have to think what the fuck is the point?
