It doesn't matter if it is psychological or if it is real. It is eternal torment. Jumping out of the bed in the middle of the night. Drinking yourself into a stupor regularly just to not think and so you can pass out, closer to the death that you want but you're too much of a coward to execute.
And living in a world where the people YOU KNOW LIED TO YOU BECAUSE YOU HAD TO LIE FOR THEM are still in power, still not in jail. Seeing them give speeches and receive worship, when you know what they really are. Mass murderers. Butchers. Liars.
Just like you became for them.
