I'm kinda lonely, and I don't have a lot of experience dating. I met a guy online who seemed nice, and we went out together last month. We'd seen pics of each other online, and maybe that's a bad way to judge but he seemed like a normal guy and he was alright with me being a boymoder. He was really cool with my being trans and said I could try girlmoding with him if I wanted. I didn't work up the nerve to really girlmode but I did go out to meet him.
He was really strange on the date, staring at me and it seemed like he'd say stuff too quietly for me to hear a lot then pretend he hadn't said anything. I heard his phone snap some pictures when I wasn't looking, but he'd always be putting his phone away by the time I glanced back.
I took it as a red flag, because he was a pretty big guy and I didn't feel like I could handle it if he was bad news. I didn't go out with him again, or talk to him anymore online after that.
I've been noticing in some pics since then that he's been in the background weirdly often. I started taking pics more, acting like selfies to post online but really to check behind me to see if he was around without tipping him off.
He was there nearly every single time I took a pic. After two days of it seeming like he was following me everywhere I went I started calling my brother to come with me when I went out.
I tried going to the police, but even bringing the pictures with me they said he wasn't doing anything wrong since these were public spots and I think they didn't take me seriously since I'm queer and this is a pretty conservative area. I feel like I can't go anywhere alone anymore, and it sucks because I haven't done anything wrong.
I'm hoping for some safe dating tips to avoid this happening again, and for now I'm moving back with my brother until this guy stops showing up in the background of my pics.
