Got a game this evening at my FLGS, one of the guys in the Facebook group offered a light mech bash, Civil war era, 4k bv, but only 2250bv can be spent on up to four lights, and the remaining 1750 on up to 1 medium for some reason? my best guess is to prevent people from just bringing 4 0/1 jenners or something. looking for feedback or tips anyone has.
>Pheonyx Hawk-3PL (3/4 or 2/5) or Vulcan 5M (0/3 or 1/1) to swat bugs with their pulses and since any unused medium space is wasted since I can't spend it on more/better lights there's no reason not to ramp their skill up to fill value.
>Wasp-4W (3/5) decent light, if I can get in close the pulses would be pleasant
>Firestarter-P (3/5) lots of weapons for lots of hit rolls, and if anyone is using a mech that can overheat easily the flamers could keep them steamy.
>Stinger-5R (3/4) if there's any scary mediums (even if I don't think anyone would, someone could bring a Hunchback IIC or something similar.) hop up it's ass and deploy rockets, if not it can still throw kicks and save the rockets to exploit a low TMM.
I think the biggest one I'm unsure about is the medium mech choice, I know the 3PL and 5M are good variants but bringing a mech that has more bonuses than skill feels kinda try hardy? but at the same time, I might run into a wraith or other 7 jump pulse boat that will never die otherwise. my current plan was to bring both and ask them in person if either felt too cheesy or not, but I figured asking here might be a good idea too.
