That's a common misconception but the Glock striker absolutely has enough potential to detonate primer without a "full cock". In fact, the striker simply being forward in its channel in the [unlikely] event of reset failure would have enough momentum with the slide returning to function like an open bolt. The actual feature is that the sear is captive in a polymer track and must travel rearward with a trigger pull to clear the "safety ramp" before it separates from the striker. This is of course in conjunction with a striker detent for redundancy
