My pops drew maps for wargames in the Hungarian People's Army (they figured out that as a machinist he knew how to do technical drawings, so they wrangled him in). He said that's when he figured out it was all bullshit, because the simulated HPA was curbstomping the simulated Austrians, the Italians, the West-Germans, the Americans etc. in the 1980's.
