I think China's rapidly developing Moon mission architecture beating out the US' mess of a plan, as well as China's MSR similarly making an embarassment of the US' version, both of these are going to kickstart the Space Race II. Only this time it will be much less friendly and much more real. Not just a prideful race to plant a flag, but now a race to claim important territory on other bodies and expand their reach into space.
