surge defeated. pidgey has once again shown up to hog the spotlight, and despite my initial intentions to retire it, i might keep it around for the long haul. or maybe not. meanwhile, bellsprout demonstrates why wrap was better designed in this gen than any subsequent ones. setting up the damage over time effect and then advancing the turn count with wrap is core to this pokemon's DNA. shame they had to ruin it after this game.
