It's actually non-woke. Tech-bros and silicon valley type guys are assholes. Though the hobbit shoes were so 2014, I read that long ago in a tech mag for nerds. Vibram Fivefingers. Nearly forgot about them. Strong proof these writers are still stuck in plots that people would only get a whole decade ago.
For me it was not fun or cringe, it just felt nostalgic and so out of touch.
