>You can’t ally heavy support choices from the main codex.
I'm not talking about taking it as an ally force though, I'm talking about taking it as part of the default LatD army itself, which has Heavy Support slots, due to the legion rules that the Arch-Heretic would have access too since he's just the Lieutenant/Sorcerer from CSM codex.
>Plus any legion-specific rules generally only apply to chaos space marine units taken from said legion
Incorrect, the LatD FAQ says that Legion bonuses still apply in the LatD army. It also says that they can take Legion-specific characters, as long as they are taken from that Legion, which suggests that your Arch-Heretic can take a legion and get/use the benefits from it.
It makes sense to me, and I'm 99% certain that I can, but it doesn't say explicitly and that's got the brainworms making me ask the question. I mean given that the Traitors can take Rhinos, that means that the Arch-Heretic and his Marine supporters took some vehicles (and gear, since LatD unit leaders have access to CSM wargear options) with them when they go 'solo' so to speak, which is why it make sense.
>Just take a squad of five traitors [as a tax]
I mean, I'm gonna do that for the other armoured vehicles, but it would be nice to not have to take as many tax units.
