Work out twice a week, not three times a week. First two sets are the heaviest you can do a 5 rep max on, if you can do more than that, don't, just do 5 reps then wait 60 seconds, do another set of 5 reps. Now do 5 sets of 20 reps, 60 second break between each.

I got this advice from a friend, he's really huge so I believe him but what do you guys think?
