The fuck you talking about? The hero path almost always entails being a pacifist, avoiding combat and using stealth, whilst the "villain" path entails actually using the weapons and mechanics how they were intended.

Dishonored was infamous for this but you can look at just about every title with an honor / karma mechanic over the last 15 years and it's all the same shit. The only game I can think of with a honor mechanic that isn't like this is red dead redemption 1/2
