I don't know about gaming but this boomer woman that taught my computer class (forgot what kind) in college about a decade ago was convinced phones were going to completely replace desktops and repeated her theory every other day. I'm guessing normalfags really had their minds blown by smartphones in the 2010s since they didn't bother with regular computers before it.
