Yeah well, the pixels are all fucked up when compared to native CRT resolutions - most common resolution with Q1 was 640x480 and then 1024x768. Chocolate quake is all blocky and shit, plus the gamma is weird too. CRT plus 1024x768 resolution and there were no jagged lines anywhere.
I had Pentium 166hz and if I remember correctly 1024x768 was still around 20+ or around 25 frames. 640x480 was easily 30 at least. Some guy who had 486 needed to play Quake in 320x200 resolution.
However when it comes down to getting stuck like in Dosbox version, I didn't see anything. It happens around in this place here.
Oh boy I sound like an elitist but I'll take Quakespasm every day over this one.
