This is flat-out false. The actual reason GDKP is banned is to combat gold-selling. Not because the majority of the playerbase is opposed to GDKP.
For that matter, those who were opposed to GDKP largely based this on the belief that GDKP leads to inflation. Which has been completely and utterly disproven. It, paradoxically, reduces inflation. Not theoretically but empirically.
With that said, this system would make gold-buying comparatively expensive(IE a gold-buyer would essentially have to pay 2-3x for the same amount of gold). Pic-related is an explanation why.
