Classic-style Hardcore is too easy. Explorer's Contract sounds stupid.

Could be too easy, could be too hard. Or really, some things could be too easy, and some things could be too hard. This would take a lot of work to "get right" because of WOTLK talents and TBC health scaling.

I'm not a fan of adding new dungeons because they tend to spread out the playerbase and make it harder to find groups. Basically, if there are twice as many dungeons, there are half as many groups for each dungeon. I do like the improvements to dungeons and adding new wings/bosses. Especially where dungeons have all caster gear or all melee gear. Which either makes it hard to find tanks, or where you end up with a group of all warriors.

I like summoning stones, but I think they should require more people(3-4 instead of 2), and should not be available for raids.

It's basically the TBC Honor System 2.0 with titles based on the # of HK's. Not completely terrible, but mostly terrible.

I would be alright with this as long as it was done correctly, but based on the devs, it is highly unlikely to be done correctly, and will end up being a bunch of welfare epics which totally fuck up the game.

It's good that they're making an effort to make low-level PvP actually worth doing for levelers. Not sure if this is the correct way to do it.

Their implementation sounds bad. Especially with the catch-up mechanic.

Not sure how they will work with the Conquest points system and PvP in general. But arenas don't work well on private servers unless you have a massive server pop(10k+).

Basically, the server is a weird mix of WOTLK and Vanilla using TBC-like talents and health values. Some of the class changes are good, but many leave me scratching my head. Overall, there is both good and bad.

The summoning stone should be a last resort. Not something to enable laziness. When it only requires two people, everyone seems to think someone else will do the running for them. I don't know how many times I've been the last person to join a group and be the first person to a dungeon because everyone else thinks someone else will make the run for them.

Fun for a bit while leveling but don't expect the endgame to last very long. You can pug most stuff since runs are still happening but there's very little incentive to do any actual progression, most people just get boosted since the majority of the raiders are naxx geared.

To put it simply, the aim is to create a currency which loses 50% of its value when you try to sell it. On top of a 20% "tax" on purchases that functions as a "gold sink".

In addition, since you can only get the currency from doing in-game activities(the currency cannot be purchased directly with gold), people have to actually do those things(instead of just farming raw gold). Furthermore, since the best place to get badges is in dungeons, raids, pvp, etc. It not only encourages people to do those things, but narrows the gold per-hour gap between solo vs group farming. Thereby encouraging more group play, and increasing the number of people doing dungeons, raids, pvp, etc.

To the extent gold can purchase the new currency, it is only through buying trade goods from the auction house. In total, there are 162 items needed for the quest turn-ins. Which means far more auction house activity.

Moreover, these quest turn-ins require raw gold(25 silver per badge), and since currency exchanges are most likely to be through the auction house(with a 5% fee). This GDKP system would be a massive gold-sink for actual gold(instead of normal GDKP's where gold changes hands at no cost).

Basically, it solves multiple problems, while preserving the ability to do the equivalent of a "GDKP".

Well, one of the problems with GDKP's is that because there is so much gold being traded/mailed, a lot of the gold-sellers actually sell gold via the GDKP's themselves, or they use the excuse of GDKP to hide their activities. For example, I would often mule gold to my friends/family back in Classic for GDKP's since mail took an hour. Sometimes I would just loan my nephew tens of thousands of gold so he could take a screenshot for the more elite GDKP signups.

It becomes extremely difficult for Blizzard to differentiate between legitimate and illegitimate gold transfers, so they don't even try.

This is one of the reasons I think GDKP is a bad idea for private servers since most of their GM's are volunteers, and they tend to be overwhelmed already with tickets and trying to police botters, multiboxers, and other things.

Since my GDKP doesn't use gold, and since "muling" badges isn't realistic, and since the "cuts" are done automatically. It wouldn't allow gold-sellers to hide their activities with GDKP.

GDKP's were rare on private servers even before people started banning them because you needed good players to do them. In fact, back when I played on Northdale, my guild(Dogz), would run GDKP's where our guild kept all the gold because there were no pugs higher than like MC/ZG.

You can do it repeatedly. There are other quests as well that will be available when you level, as well as profession based ones. After so many turn-ins your reputation will raise too high and you will not be able to turn in paws, and will have to turn in another quest. Depending on what you want that may not be an issue.

Pretty much every current loot distribution system didn't exist in vanilla. Back then, everyone was basically using some version of DKP(zero-sum, decay, etc) or just straight up rolled shit off. I never even heard of loot council until like 2016.

I never heard of soft-reserve until like 2018. And never saw a 2 SR raid until late in Classic(2021). The loot systems top guilds use are weird as fuck because they're basically designed for speedrunning and the loot distribution is decided before the raid starts through priority lists/class leads.

I haven't been in an actual DKP guild since like 2017. And that wasn't really even a true DKP guild because everything had a fixed price. You basically just said you wanted something and whoever had the highest DKP got it. It created a lot of drama because the Paladins never wanted to use their DKP on Tier 2 since it was shit for healing, so they would always have more DKP than the other healers and get priority on all the rings/weapons/trinkets. Whereas priests/druids were essentially forced to take their T2 since it was usually an upgrade.

No one has the authentic vanilla loot distribution experience, and no one wants it. So please spare me.

There are unironically too many players on Turtle and the game is rapidly becoming unplayable.
