Not him but Centur-Ion sort of suffered from this. The cover for Centur-Ion was Emeth VI, so initially it looked like the archetype would be people piloting mechs, with the mechs taking center-stage.
But in actuality, Gargoyle and Emeth are minor pieces of a largely human pie, even Legatia and Auxila are more human than mech.
That's not to say I don't like the results but the alternative would've been cool too
