The worst you can say about any of these is that they're kinda a pain to get into.

Ritual as a mechanic is inherently slowed down by requiring a specific spell and a specific monster in your hand as well as at least 1 tribute. That's 3 specific cards at bare minimum which was the exact problem the Fusion mechanic had until they started inventing generic fusions, archetype Fusion spells and Polymerization tutors which was eventually able to overtune the mechanic into being part of a combo line instead of an end board.

With Ritual, the mechanic doesn't have the advantage of the cards being in the ED so they take up main deck space which will weaken your engine/non-engine ratios but they fixed this by making Rituals into part of the engine as well as an enboard piece but unfortunately they're still a weaker part of the engine so their usage is still lacking.

Because CC suffered greatly because a lot of decks were not completely made out of common cards (Megalith lacked some cards for example) and with a limited pool of handtraps, it was hard to contest Lunalight, a deck that had everything available as commons, shit was manageable but then they unbanned Tiger and that made Lunalight tier 0. Nothing halted Lunalight at all, and this was before their DUAD support btw.

i should in theory love the concept of an MST deck but they absolutely fumbled the art. it doesn't evoke MST like let's say pic rel evokes torrential.
RUSH is somehow doing a far better job of supporting old cards and treating them with the appropriate amount of respect instead of forced OC slop.

If the opponent looks through your deck and attempts to modify the sequence of your cards during a shuffle, and is caught by you, does it necessarily warrant a disqualification / match loss

The reason why I brought up Tears specifically btw, is cause it's one of the most interactive decks in Yu-Gi-Oh, if not THE most. While I agree that tearlaments being the blueprint for modern yugioh would have been a good idea, the issue is that that never happened. There arent other decks that do was tear does. You can't make an anti meta format with the premise "deck will play on both turns" since tearlaments is the only deck that does that and its so much stronger than other decks.

Chaos turbo is the strongest deck in GOAT format, but its definitely not tier 0 and there's other decks that can easily beat it. Other than reasoning gate, the other decks in the format still play same style of yugioh as Chaos turbo. tearlaments is simply too unique to build a format around currently.

All three cards use the same wording, and work the same way.
The handtraps they turn off need to state "You can send this card from your hand to the GY" for cost for it to be disabled. If it says "You can discard this card;" then its fine. The ruling is because, for cost, you cannot perform the action as they would not be sent to the GY. Same thing would happen if a card said "Any card sent to the GY is shuffled into the Deck/Extra Deck instead", as discarding is just the action of attempting to send to GY, and "send from hand to GY" is a full descriptor of the exact conditions required for it to go.
Personally, if I had total control over the TCG/OCG, I would simplify the game of this retarded shit. There's genuinely no actual point to having those two actions be different to this degree, as for the most part whether a card sends to GY or discards is completely fucking arbitrary design-wise and you may as well just make everything discard as it is the strongest variety.
Same thing with differentiating cost discards with effect discards, its random arbitrary bullshit that only serves to confuse new players without any actual balancing or nuance being applied.
It's why Yugioh is seen as a game for lawyers. Long-winded text boxes with subtle nuance in how one card works vs another, but it doesn't actually end up making the game more interesting it just makes it all the more frustrating if Konami gave your card the worse condition for no reason

You could kind of play through Ash going first if the rest of your hand was good and you opened Aluber/Brafu but if you had to jump through a bunch of hoops like Normal summon Qem dump Brafu, Albion dump Retributionto get to Brafu in the first place and then it still got Ashed that was very tough. Going second into a full board and then getting Ashed? Good luck playing through that.
Also, let's not forget that half the decks in the current Meta have Ash Blossoms 4, 5 and 6 in the form of Dominus Impulse which is just as bad as Ash is and potentially worse since you can't hit it with Called by and it doesn't let you use Talents or Thrust. The Cyber Angels which are a series of Fairy monsters based on Ritual Summoning.
